If you’ve decided that you’re done with your self-publishing journey, or possibly you’re looking for a fresh new start, the following steps will give you the steps to take to close your KDP account. There is actually no way to outright “delete” your account but there is a way to permanently close it.
For your eBooks, paperbacks & hardcover books: On your KDP bookshelf, find the books you want to unpublish, hover over the 3 dots next to that book (where the ellipsis drop down menu is), and select the option to unpublish. Once you have selected to unpublish, you will then get a pop-up saying the following, before you select unpublish to confirm:
By confirming, you will be unpublishing this book. We'll stop printing copies of your (hardcover, eBook, or paperback) to fulfill customer orders. Third parties may still sell copies of your hardcover on Amazon. That means your (hardcover, eBook, or paperback) detail page will stay live on the website.
The next step is to get ahold of KDP’s customer support.
The support team will verify your request and may then ask you to confirm a few details. Once approved, your account will be closed.
