Selling KDP Books Outside of KDP

When you publish a book on KDP, you have options of where the book can and will be sold.

Going Exclusive with KDP Select

If you enroll your book in KDP Select, it becomes part of Kindle Unlimited and the Kindle Owners' Lending Library, which can expand your reach.
But the limitation is this: If your book is published in an eBook format, it must remain exclusive to Amazon for 90 days. You won’t even be able to place it for sale on your own website. Apple Books, Kobo, and the other sites which sell eBooks are off-limits for that 90 day period. This only applies to eBooks; print books are exempt from this exclusivity rule and are allowed to be sold anywhere.

Wide Distribution

If exclusivity for your eBook doesn’t appeal to you, you can choose KDP’s regular publishing option which gives you full freedom to sell your book wherever you like such as Apple Books, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and Google Play Books.
This approach gives you the flexibility to reach a broader audience across multiple channels.
